HPD: Speed is a factor in crash that killed 20-year-old motorcyclist

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Honolulu police said speed is a factor in a crash that killed a 20-year-old male motorcyclist late Thursday.
The fatal crash happened around 11:50 p.m. on the H-1 Freeway westbound, in the Honolulu area.
HPD said the motorcyclist was speeding down H-1 west when he rear-ended a vehicle and ejected onto the road.
Authorities said the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet, they added.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.
It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol are factors in this crash.
